BGU Radio Establishes Live Studio for Coronavirus News

March 20, 2020

Negev Development & Community Programs

To support BGU staff and students during the coronavirus period, BGU Radio has upgraded their studios for live broadcasting. The broadcasts in Hebrew, Arabic and English are posted on the BGU Radio Facebook page. All broadcasts are recorded so that they can also be viewed later.

The director of BGU Radio, Dr. Buzi Raviv, explained: “With the University campuses working at a minimum and many students and staff at home, BGU Radio will act as a hub of communication to keep the BGU community connected until the coronavirus crisis passes.”

The live broadcasts hosted by students and staff are providing:

  • Official news from the University – students and staff can ask questions and get answers via the Facebook chat function or they can call in and be broadcast via cellphone or Skype
  • Cultural and student well-being programs and interviews
  • A platform for course lectures
