With BGU as a Catalyst, Beer-Sheva Comes of Age

The latest issue of B’nai B’rith Magazine features a profile of the tremendous growth of the city Beer-Sheva and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. It includes interviews with several long-time Beer-Sheva residents who take pride in their hometown’s blossoming economic development and new energy.
“I have seen this wonderful metropolis grow over 40 years. There are now 15 to 16 neighborhoods, the boulevards are large and the horizons are open,” says Ethelea Katzenell, who has been a librarian at BGU since 1972.
“The city, the University and I all grew up together,” she adds.
