The Jerusalem Post – Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) student Noa Argamani became the face of the hostage crisis after the world saw footage of her capture from the Nova Music Festival. Noa has been named to The Jerusalem Post’s 50 Most Influential Jews in 2024 list for her efforts in advocating for the remaining Israeli hostages being held captive in Gaza.

Millions watched the video of Noa being loaded onto a motorcycle, surrounded and restrained by Hamas terrorists while reaching out to her partner, former BGU student Avinatan Or, who was taken captive alongside her and remains in captivity.

The terror on her face in the seconds-long footage showing her taken captive and her desperation as she attempted to reach Avinatan, who was separated from her soon after, put a face and an image to the unimaginable, as people around the world struggled to comprehend the horror of Hamas’ captive-taking.

Noa Argamani was rescued in the heroic Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Operation Arnon after nearly 250 days of captivity. She is one of eight hostages whom the IDF has rescued alive.
