BGU, only 45 years old, has become a leading global university on par with many that have been honing their reputations for a century or more.

QS World University Rankings has taken notice. Not only has BGU again been named a Top 50 Under 50 institution, it moved up to number 18, 12 places ahead of last year’s ranking.

Additionally, BGU places 10th in the index of article citations, indicating academic quality.

This announcement comes fresh on the heels of the news that BGU moved up 33 places in the overall QS World University Rankings this year, the only Israeli university to see a rise in the rankings.

BGU Rector Prof. Zvi HaCohen welcomes the news, but is unsurprised. “Every year the University climbs significantly in the rankings of the younger universities in the world,” he says.

“This is a clear testament to the hard work and commitment of BGU’s faculty in the pursuit of excellence, establishing its international reputation as a leading academic institution.”
