Prof. Dan Blumberg is BGU’s vice president and dean for research and development and director of the Homeland Security Institute. Prof. Blumberg’s research spans a wide range of homeland security applications related to remote sensing and imaging,including rapid response, target andanomaly detection, and situational awareness. He also heads the Earth and Planetary Image Facility at BGU, an affiliate of NASA’s Regional Planetary Image Facilities (RPIF) network. The RPIF is an international system of planetary image libraries, which maintains photographic data, mission documentation and cartographic data.
