Dr. Oren Tsur serves as an assistant professor at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev’s Department of Software and Information Systems Engineering where he leads the Natural Language Processing and Social Dynamics Lab (NASLAB). He is also the Chair of the new interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Digital Politics and Strategy. The Center researches and addresses an array of social online phenomena, ranging from election interference to the proliferation of hate-speech.

Dr. Tsur and his team develop and use state-of-the-art computational methods to scan the internet and analyze the digital space, social networks data and political data influencing the public.

Dr. Tsur’s academic focus, along with the interdisciplinary nature of this research center, only exists among a select group of universities, including Northeastern University, Harvard University, Stanford University, NYU and Washington University.
