Join Americans for Ben-Gurion University (A4BGU) for a festive Tu B’Shvat reception and special screening of “Who are the Marcuses?” in partnership with the JCC Mid-Westchester.

“Who Are The Marcuses?” uncovers a mysterious Long Island couple whose half-a-billion-dollar gift inspires peace and climate action through water technology in Israel. Holocaust survivors Lottie and Howard Marcus, an unassuming couple who first settled in Great Neck, New York, and retired to a modest two-bedroom apartment in San Diego, California, bequeathed a half-billion dollars to Ben Gurion University in 2016 – the largest single charitable donation in Israel’s history. An amazing story of how two “ordinary” people made an extraordinary impact.

The screening will feature a talkback with A4BGU’s CEO, Doug Seserman, to learn more about the film and how the Marcus gift impacted Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and the State of Israel.
