Our Mission

Americans for Ben-Gurion University plays a vital role in sustaining David Ben-Gurion’s vision: creating a world-class institution of education and research in the Israeli desert, nurturing the Negev community, and sharing the University’s expertise locally and around the globe.

What We Do

Americans for Ben-Gurion University elevates awareness, strengthens donor bonds, and raises funds for the University and the Negev across the United States. We showcase BGU’s academic excellence and groundbreaking research to individuals, foundations, organizations, and the media. Activities include a series of educational programs and events, and informative digital and print communications that feature BGU’s world renowned faculty.

The American Associates Village at Sde Boker was dedicated at the 44th BGU Board of Governors Meeting. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the American Associates Village at Sde Boker. The complex will expand available housing for as many as 150 additional international students. Despite the sirens of Operation Protective Edge, a festive block party was recently held on Bershad Lane in the American Associates at Sde Boker. Beer-Sheva’s Advanced Technologies Park, adjacent to BGU’s Marcus Family Campus, was inaugurated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in September 2013. AAGBU supporter, and one of the visionaries behind Beer-Sheva’s Advanced Technologies Park, Jim Breslauer received an honorary doctorate from BGU at the 44th Annual Board of Governors Meeting.
