Thank you, Kathleen and Rob Spitzer (left), for the sign that now hangs in my office. Here I am at their home on Mercer Island, Washington with Brina Sanft of Seattle.

At the beautiful home of Dr. Richard and Paula Mandel (left) in Conshohocken Pennsylvania, for a Philadelphia Chapter Negev Forum event with Philadelphia Chapter Vice Chair Sherrie Savett, Esq.

When I look at this photo taken at a café on the Marcus Family Campus, I think of the amazing dedication and passion of the recently passed Bob Arnow z”l, a former president of Americans for Ben-Gurion University and the founder of the Robert H. Arnow Center for Bedouin Women at BGU. That the University has a mandate to reach out in support of its neighbors through social service and education is one of my greatest prides.

Our amazing fourth cohort of Zin Fellows at a two-day gathering in New Jersey. Love their youth, their passion to study about Zionism and sustainable development in the Negev, and their dedication to give back. Our leaders of the future! Dr. Paula Kabalo (second row, fourth from left), director of BGU’s Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism, is one of the leaders of the program, along with Prof. Simon Barak, (first row, middle). ENGAGE WITH THE NEGEV

January 21 is Tu B’Shvat or what I like to call Jewish Earth Day. Join me in celebrating by planting an olive tree in the Negev. At Wadi Mashash, BGU’s experimental desert farm, our experts are growing an olive tree forest with only natural rainfall.
