Dean Prof. Reli Hershkovitz watched as droves of aspiring doctors from around the world put their dreams on hold to become lone soldiers and support Israel post-October 7th. After completing months of service, the universities where they were enrolled started without them. Prof. Hershkovitz said, “It’s not fair that they are coming to fight for us, and I’m not going to fight for them.” She found a home at BGU for a dozen medical students, and they finished their first year of school with good grades and high spirits, supported by their community.
