Rabbi Lance J. Sussman Ph.D.: Our distinguished keynote speaker is noted historian of the American Jewish Experience, the former senior rabbi of Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, 2001-2022 and now Rabbi Emeritus. He has written numerous books and articles in the field of American Jewish History and has taught at Princeton University, Binghamton University (SUNY) and Hunter College (CUNY). Rabbi Sussman is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Governors of Gratz College in Melrose Park, PA.
Our program will also include a short excerpt from a cantata, “To Bigotry, No Sanction”, commissioned by Rabbi Sussman and Cantor Amy Levy, based on the famous letter President George Washington sent to the Hebrew Congregation of Newport in 1790.
