Prof. Dan Blumberg is vice president for industrial and regional development at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). He is responsible for the ongoing expansion of the high-tech industry in Beer-Sheva and around the Negev, leveraging BGU’s applied research and innovation expertise. Additionally, he is the director of the University’s Homeland Security Institute. A former chair of the Department of Geography and Environmental Development, his research on remote sensing spans a wide range of homeland security applications, including rapid response, target and anomaly detection, and situational awareness. He was instrumental in transforming BGU into a renowned research institute in the field of environmental remote sensing and homeland security.
