Prof. Evyatar Erell is an associate professor in the Bona Terra Department of Man in the Desert at the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research, located on BGU’s Sde Boker Campus. He is also a member of the Department of Geography and Environmental Development on the University’s Marcus Family Campus in Beer-Sheva.

Trained as an architect and climatologist, Prof. Erell’s research covers a range of topics related to energy in the built environment, including urban climate, windows and daylight in buildings and passive techniques for heating and cooling buildings.

Prof. Erell has published several books and numerous research papers, and has contributed extensively to the development of standards on energy performance of buildings.

He is currently on sabbatical leave as a guest of Carnegie Mellon University.
