Prof. Eilon Adar, who served as a water consultant in Israel’s 1994 peace treaty with Jordan, is now is taking a lead role in sharing Israeli water management expertise with California’s top water specialists in light of the current drought. This will be his fourth trip to the Bay Area and Sacramento since last fall, to continue his dialogue with California’s top water experts and policymakers.

An internationally renowned expert in arid zones hydrology and Middle East water issues, Prof. Adar has devoted more than 25 years to his work at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. From 2002 to 2015, he served as the director of BGU’s Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research. He is also a lecturer in the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences. Prof. Adar conducts cutting-edge research on groundwater flow systems and arid basins. He has represented Israel around the world speaking on water-related issues, published numerous papers, and takes an active role in helping start-up businesses use innovative water technologies developed at BGU.
