Etgar Keret is a widely known and beloved author in Israel and abroad. He also teaches writing in BGU’s Department of Hebrew Literature. Born in Tel Aviv in 1967, Keret began publishing short stories and novels in Hebrew in the early 1990s and was immediately recognized for his refreshing and innovative voice. Keret received the Camera D’Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and has been honored as a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in France. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review and The New York Times, and on This American Life where he is a regular contributor. His latest work, The Seven Good Years, a memoir, was published in the United States in June 2015.
