BGU researchers are gaining insight toward developing new treatments and, possibly, cures for diseases like Alzheimer’s, stroke, trauma-induced epilepsy, learning and social disorders, and mental illness.

Prof. Alon Friedman, M.D., Ph.D. is a member of Ben-Gurion University’s Department of Physiology and Neurobiology and is the former director of the University’s Zlotowski Center for Neuroscience. Prof. Friedman’s team is working on multiple groundbreaking research projects.  Currently, Prof. Friedman is awaiting publication approval for research using new MRI imaging techniques that are more sensitive and may enable early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy or chronic trauma encephaly (CTE) following brain trauma.
