In addition to his position at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Prof. Kobi Gal is a reader in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University. His research enables him to design AI technologies for addressing real world problems in such domains as education, citizen science, participatory democracy and negotiation.
Prof. Gal is the recipient of many awards including the Wolf Foundation’s Krill Prize for young Israeli scientists and Harvard’s outstanding teacher award (three-time recipient). His leadership positions in artificial intelligence associations include serving as chair of the Israeli Association for Artificial Intelligence from 2017 to 2021.
