Prof. Ilan Dinstein joined BGU’s Departments of Psychology and Cognitive and Brain Sciences in 2012. His research focuses on the neurobiology of autism with a particular emphasis on early development. He is the founder and director of Israel’s National Autism Research Center, which collects vital information from children with autism and their families to improve autism diagnosis and treatment. Housed at BGU, the Center brings together researchers and clinicians from a variety of universities and medical centers in Israel and is funded by the Israeli Ministry of Science. Prof. Dinstein is a recipient of the Alon Fellowship from the Israeli Council for Higher Education and the Sieratzki Prize for Advances in Neuroscience. He earned his Ph.D. in neuroscience at New York University, and did postdoctoral work at Carnegie Mellon University.
